What is quite noticeable from the comments so far, is the fact that instead of attempting to lead others to understand science, most of the Evolutionists (a term I also see as derogatory) basically post in a way in which they want to ridicule and insult. Way to go! That’s how an intelligent person convinces another…. NOT! At the same time I also can understand why these people do not WANT a God to exist. It is because they will have to answer for the way in which they have interacted with other humans. In other words, no God is equal to blissful ignorance!

But before anyone attempts to attack and try to tear my views apart, I am a scientist. And yes, I do believe in God. I also do not believe in a young earth. But in terms of humans, I definitely do believe in a relatively young humanity. Humans are definitely one of the most recent “creations” on this planet. And maybe not even from this planet. Maybe we are just parasites depleting the resources of the planet and our science is only aimed at searching for a new host? (According to what I read from the comments.)

I can also go into a long explanation and rip many of the theories in science apart with plain straight forward logical reasoning. Things that are explained by the theorists, when they use terms like “it must have been that there were different laws under these circumstances“. If we use such explanations, then it must be a belief system too.

The point is however, that while we ridicule and insult, we do not contribute at all. Even if we understood much more than we do now, so that we could for example travel at the speed of light (without being ripped apart by the forces or without colliding with a stray stone the size of a pea), it will still take us generations and more generations and yet a few more of them before we will reach the nearest neighbour galaxy. It will probably take generations before we reach the nearest inhabitable planet in our own galaxy.

Let us stop here and look again at the insults and the ridicule and the effect on the other person/s who might become a nations through natural association. And it is in the savage and primitive human nature to enforce our ideas and ideals on other. Previously the belief was mostly centred around religion. Now it becomes science vs religion. And because my science is better than yours, I have the power to take your resources, so I take over your country and resources, because I can! And we are then back where we started. Wars waged in our own self-interest and based on belief system.

Now look at the concept of true principles religion, where the teaching is to live in peace and to also accept others, so that we can work together. Or the concept of true science, where we use scientific advancement and progress to benefit all of mankind. These are the things we should strive for. Humanity is not civilised and many generations will still pass before we might get close to humanity being civilised. We are still caught up in a primitive self-interest, where the “I” is still the only thing we think about. We tend to serve the “me” and no one else. So, is our first priority not to focus on that, whether it is through rules for our society, created through science and also religion, if necessary?

Getting back to where we started, we probably have to understand why people ridicule and insult. It is plainly, when you have no valid argument left to convince another of your belief. That is when you feel the urge to make other “look silly”, so that you feel better about your own belief system. The other person is not “in” and must therefore be ridiculous. Interestingly, the most successful people in science were never part of the “in” crowd. They were mostly individuals with originals ideas that deviated from the norm of what basically was the popular beliefs and perceptions of the time.

So, in science, are you only part of the “in” crowd, or are you a true scientist?
